The blog, launched this month, is written by Sofia Hart, a Natural student, about her work with fine arts, photography, language learning, and more.
"Through an Artist''s Lens" is a blog produced by Sofia Hart, an advanced student of the Español Natural course and a visual artist. Sofia grew up in the United States and is a dual American and Brazilian citizen. She has a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts and a Bachelor's degree in English from Haverford College.
In addition to her long-term support of the institute, such as participating in the creation of the introductory-level Natural English book, many of her pictures are on show at the school.
She is a self-taught artist who likes painting with oils and acrylics, and is also interested in many other forms of art.
The blog is available on our website, via the community tab, and talks about various topics, including: her thoughts on art, photography, connections with the language-learning process, and various other topics she is passionate about.
According to Sofia, the idea is "to reflect about art through my writing and share my thoughts with an international audience", and she invites feedback from readers.
The first post, "Elevating the Cerrado", is available in English and Portuguese. In the post, she tells us a little bit about her thoughts on the Cerrado, talking specifically about two of the pictures in the Cerrado collection. Sofia discusses her creative process, her connection with the artwork, and her own experiences.
