Here are two situations:
1. John has been studying for a public service entrance exam (concurso) for two years and just found out that he did not pass.
2. Rachel's boss recently retired and she was expecting to receive a promotion. Instead someone who was hired more recently is promoted ahead of her.
Write a short dialogue for each situation expressing either sympathy or empathy.
In both situations one person (John or Rachel) is distressed. The other is trying to comfort them.
