This week we are launching Ricky (one of our great teachers) blog “Reavivando o Kariri” where he talks about his latest project: the Kariri Dictionary. Ricky is an English teacher, born in Washington DC in the United States, and a graduate in Visual Communication from the Parson School of Design in New York, as well as gaining a Master's in design from Design Academy Einphoven. In this new project, Ricky is decoding Kariri, a dead indigenous language, in the hope that he can contribute to his revival. In order to achieve this, he is working in collaboration with Labs, Natural's technology laboratory, to compile a Kariri Dictionary. Recently, Ricky discovered a group of indigenous people from Alagoas who are re-learning Kariri, and now he talks to them daily on WhatsApp. To learn more about this new endeavor, check out the first publication through this link.
